Native Bluetooth support for the 5G iPod Video

Here it is! “Native” Bluetooth support for the 5G iPod Video. A few weeks ago I posted a5g_finished_wm-749300.jpg tutorial on Instructables.com for how to add internal Bluetooth to your 4G iPOd. Modding the iPod video was considerably more difficult. Unlike the previous hack, I wanted a to leave the external appearance looking stock. So, with the exception of the custom clear front panel, the iPod looks just like any other.

The Music Light: sound can be visualized

The Music Light isn’t the first light show device generated by measuring certain frequencies of sound. Inmusic-light.jpg fact there are already a few on the market. This one takes it one step further because sound can be visualized in a way no current product on the market can do. Instead of just flashing, you can see pulses of light move up and down the cords, pulsating, rippling, shifting colors even. I personally think it doesn’t do much for the wearer since I’m hard pressed to ever stare at my cord, but for passer-bys I’m sure will bring up nostalgic feelings of dark club scenes with laser shows and glow sticks.

Apple Drops Shuffle Price to $49

ipodshuffle.jpgLooking for a reason to go screenless? Apple ended the long weekend with a price-cut to its low-end iPod Shuffle player, pricing the 1GB model at $49. The company has also rolled out 2GB model priced at $69.

“At just $49, the iPod shuffle is the most affordable iPod ever,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing, in a release issued this morning. “The new 2GB model lets music lovers bring even more songs everywhere they go in the impossibly small iPod shuffle.”

The newly priced 1GB model is available immediately via Apple’s site. The 2GB model will debut later this month.
